
Lesson Title: Dinosaurs Target Grade(s): Second GradeSubject: Science/Dinosaurs, Social Studies, Language Arts, Math, Art Objective: To use technology to gather information on the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods in order to create a timeline. Students will list three examples of dinosaur species and environmental characteristics appropriate to each period.

Internet: Possible Web sites to investigate: Preparation:  | Students will be introduced to dinosaurs and the concept of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. They will also have been familiarized with gathering information from available technology.
| Procedures:
 | Students will gather information on dinosaur periods (i.e. duration in years, habitat and animal species) from available CD ROMs and Internet Web sites. - Using the information gathered students will choose three dinosaurs from each period to copy and paste onto the Kid Pix program or locate on a Web site on the Internet.
- The students will print their pictures.
- The students need to adapt the research information into their own words. They will provide three facts about the environment and three examples of dinosaur life.
- The students will assemble their timeline based on a teacher model.
